My Gear

Below is a detailed list of the equipment I either own currently or have personal experience using.

BOSE Personal Amplification System (PAS)
I personally have the L1 Model I with 4 B1 bass modules. In addition, I have the ToneMatch audio engine and a Bose A1 PackLite amplifier. I love this system and have used it with a full band with drums (mic'd), bass, keys, and guitars in many inside and outside venues. I love this system and recommend it highly.

The unique, all-in-one sound system delivers clear, powerful sound across the stage and throughout small to medium-sized venues. Hear what your audience hears, and eliminate conventional monitors, mixers and PA systems.
Key benefits of this L1 system:

 * Projects clean, detailed sound evenly across the stage and throughout an audience of up to several hundred, with little change in tone or volume
* Produces smooth, consistent tone, whether you're in front of the loudspeaker or off to the side
* Reduces much unwanted room reverberation
* Eliminates conventional monitors, mixers and PA
* Sets up and breaks down quickly; fits easily into a car trunk

Taylor T5-C2 guitar
The guitar I use currently is a Custom Taylor T5. I chose it for it's versatility, being able to be used as an acoustic or an electric. I found myself wanting to add crunch to some songs I played without changing guitars, the T5 was a perfect match. I did realize that since I grew up with an acoustic that I tend to press hard on the strings when I get playing and because of that I was make the note go out of tune. I replaced the bridge with the T5 acoustic bridge and used acoustic strings and my issues went away. Another note is that if you really want the sound of an electric, send the signal to an amp that is for an electric (no tweeter) and if you want the acoustic sound send it to an amp or PA system (typically with tweeters). Use an A/B switch to go back an forth if you need that functionality. My rig is simply an A/B foot switch, one line going to an acoustic amp (SWR Strawberry Blonde) or PA (Bose PAS) and one line going to multi-effects pedal (by Boss) into an electric amp (then into the Bose PAS if needed). In conclusion, I really like the T5 and how it fits the my needs.

Martin 000CXEBLACK
If you are looking for a great sounding acoustic guitar I had a Martin 000CXEBLACK that I sold to get a Taylor T5 and wish I didn't. It is the best guitar for the price and after play many guitars and various stores I feel the Martin 000CXEBLACK is the best guitar I've had and would buy another.

Martin DX1AE
So I went to buy a 000CXEBLACK to replace the one I had and went in thinking I wanted the natural tone and not the black. I played many that night and then played the DX1AE. It had a wonderful mid-range tone and an action that had a perfect feel. Martin guitars from the X series feature patented high pressure laminate (HPL) back and sides with a solid Sitka spruce top, patented mortise and tenon neck construction, and professionally installed Fishman Matrix Infinity electronics. The pickup controls are mounted just inside the sound hole so you never see them and sounds clean and rich. So after debating I walked out with the DX1AE and great guitar that differs from the Taylor T5.
